A Ronin SA Reflection

After completing the main phase of the Ronin SA course in Poland, Máté took some time to reflect on his journey, the challenges, the lessons, and the determination that continues to drive him forward. In this candid conversation, he shares what it truly means to push beyond limits, embrace growth, and stay committed to personal and professional excellence. Máté's story embodies the values at the heart of The Ops Con and Ronin SA: resilience, discipline, and the pursuit of purpose.

Q: How are you feeling now that you've completed the main phase of Ronin SA Poland and are preparing to return to finish the last two modules?

A: The past nine months have been quite intense for me. Just before Ronin SA Poland, I completed a demanding six-month project, so by the end of this phase I was genuinely exhausted, but it's the good kind of exhaustion, the one that comes from giving your all.

I'm incredibly proud of myself for completing this five-week intensive training in a language that isn't my native one. All things considered, I believe I performed quite well under the circumstances.

Unfortunately, I wasn't properly prepared for the fitness test, which is why I didn't pass it on the first attempt. That said, I'm absolutely determined to return, finish what I started, and complete the course successfully.

Q: Looking back, what stands out most from your time at Ronin SA?

A: One of the most valuable things I gained from Ronin SA was a deeper understanding of myself. The course pushed me to confront my own limitations and taught me that true discipline isn't just about following rules, it's about maintaining control and composure under pressure.

I also developed a much greater appreciation for the importance of muscle memory. In stressful situations, your body falls back on what it knows instinctively, and that's why repetition and proper training are so crucial. Ronin SA drilled that into me in a way I hadn't fully grasped before.

Q: What would you say to someone who is considering taking on Ronin SA?

A: If someone recommended it to you, there's a reason for that. My advice would be to do your research, understand what the course entails, and then prepare yourself both mentally and physically.

Physical fitness is essential, there's no getting around that. But equally important is the right mindset. You need to go in with humility, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to give it everything you've got.

If you're considering it and have the chance, don't hesitate for a second. The experience will challenge you in ways you can't imagine, but it will also help you grow in ways that few other opportunities can.

Q: You've mentioned the instructors Luther and Alfred. How did their support impact your experience?

A: Luther and Alfred were absolutely instrumental in keeping me motivated throughout the course. There were moments when I felt completely drained, both physically and mentally, but their encouragement made all the difference.

I'll never forget the times when they would run alongside me during training, pushing me to keep going even when I felt like I had nothing left. That kind of personal investment from the instructors is something I deeply appreciate.

Even now, as I prepare to return and complete the course, they continue to offer their support. Knowing that they believe in me gives me the confidence to keep pushing forward.

Máté's journey continues

Q: What are your plans moving forward?

A: Right now, I'm focused on training and preparing for my return to Ronin SA. I'm maintaining a rigorous fitness regimen and working on the areas where I know I need to improve.

I'm also planning to attend shooting range practice to sharpen my skills and build on what I learned during the course. Beyond that, I'm looking forward to completing the Dorchester College Masterclass and continuing to develop my expertise in the field.

My goal is not just to pass the fitness test, but to come back stronger, more capable, and ready to take on whatever challenges lie ahead.

Q: Finally, what does this journey mean to you personally?

A: This journey is about more than just completing a course or earning a certification. For me, it's about proving to myself that I can overcome obstacles, adapt to new challenges, and continue growing no matter how difficult things get.

Ronin SA has taught me that true strength isn't about never falling, it's about getting back up every time you do. It's about learning from your mistakes, staying humble, and always striving to be better than you were yesterday.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of this journey, and I'm determined to see it through to the end. The lessons I've learned here will stay with me for the rest of my life, and I'm excited to see where this path leads.
