About This Course

Exclusively available to UK Government-trained Tier 1 Close Protection Operatives (RMP CPU, UKSF Bodyguard, Met Police RaSP, or NPOC/PSNI) with relevant occupational experience. This specialist conversion course uses Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) to provide exemption from mandatory training, aligning existing Tier 1 operators onto the SIA Close Protection Licence framework. Blended: 11–12 hours of e-learning plus 5 days of face-to-face classroom sessions.

Threat and risk assessment and management

Surveillance, anti-surveillance and counter-surveillance methods

Search procedures for people, vehicles and venues; CP foot drills

Venue security, reconnaissance, planning and route selection

Terror threat awareness and response to suspicious behaviour/items

Physical intervention skills for CP operatives (ethical, justifiable use of force)
