Condensed 1-day requalification for holders of a current (or very newly expired) First Aid at Work certificate. Valid 3 years.
About This Course
For learners who hold a current valid First Aid at Work certificate, or one very newly expired, allowing a reduced course to requalify for a further 3 years. Learners have a one-month grace period post-expiry to access this condensed course (during which they are not qualified to provide first aid). A minimum requirement for the SIA Close Protection Licence. Blended: 6 hours of e-learning plus a 1-day classroom session (09:00–16:00), group size limited to 12.
What You'll Learn
Roles and responsibilities of the first aider; recording and reporting
Assessing and monitoring a casualty; CPR and AED use
Choking, bleeding, shock and minor injuries
Secondary surveys; injuries to bones, muscles and joints
Head, spinal and chest injuries; burns, scalds and eye injuries
Electrical incidents, poisoning, anaphylaxis and seizures
Recognition of major illness (heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes)
