About This Course

The Qualsafe First Response Emergency Care (Level 3 RQF) is a regulated, nationally recognised qualification and the leading qualification for events cover — it also forms the first step toward becoming a Paramedic. An alternative requirement for the SIA Close Protection Licence. This hands-on 5-day course fulfils the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D, covering emergency oxygen administration, trauma and major-illness management and more. Group sizes limited to 6–12.

What You'll Learn

Roles and responsibilities of first responders; patient clinical records

Scene, primary and secondary (head-to-toe) surveys; triage and handover

CPR for adults, children and infants; correct AED and bag-valve-mask use

Administering therapeutic oxygen and safe handling of medical gases

Airway management: OPA/NPA selection and use

Catastrophic haemorrhage, shock, fractures, dislocations, sprains and strains

Spinal immobilisation: cervical collars, scoop stretcher, head blocks

Major illness and medical emergencies incl. sepsis, stroke, heart attack, seizures and anaphylaxis

Prerequisites

•Suitable for learners aged 17+
•Minimum Level 2 English & Maths and a basic understanding of first aid
•Must be physically fit enough to perform CPR for at least 4 minutes on the floor
