About This Course
A minimum requirement to satisfy Early Years education providers under the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Suitable for anyone aged 16+ responsible for the welfare of infants and children. Delivered as a blended package of 5–6 hours of e-learning plus a 6-hour classroom session (09:00–16:00), group size limited to 12. Each learner receives a training pack.
What You'll Learn
Role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider
Assessing an emergency safely; accident recording and reporting
First aid for an unresponsive infant and child; CPR and AED use
Choking, external bleeding and shock in infants and children
Bites, stings, minor injuries and suspected bone/muscle/joint injuries
Head and spinal injuries; eye, ear and nose conditions
Acute medical conditions, extremes of temperature, burns, scalds and poisoning
Anaphylaxis management
