About This Course
The First Aid at Work (FAW) Level 3 Award is a comprehensive blended learning programme designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, confidence, and practical capability to respond effectively to workplace medical emergencies. This course combines 1 day (approximately 6 hours) of guided online distance learning with 2 days of face-to-face practical training and assessment, ensuring full alignment with the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 and current HSE guidance. The online learning element allows delegates to complete essential theoretical modules at their own pace prior to attending the practical phase. The in-person training focuses on hands-on skill development, real-world scenarios, and formal assessment delivered by qualified instructors. This qualification is suitable for individuals designated as workplace first aiders, particularly within higher-risk environments such as construction, security operations, manufacturing, hospitality, and large-scale commercial settings. This qualification also satisfies the first aid prerequisite for individuals progressing into SIA Close Protection training, exceeding the minimum Emergency First Aid at Work requirement. Upon successful completion, learners will be awarded a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years.
