Level 4 Award in Protective Security
A practical Level 4 award, studied by distance learning, that teaches you to assess security risk, find the vulnerabilities and plan proportionate protective security measures.
Overview
About This Course
The Level 4 Award in Protective Security gives a practical introduction to the principles of protective security and security risk management. It is designed for professionals who are responsible for protecting people, premises, assets and organisational activities from security threats. Rather than focusing on individual security measures, the course builds a structured, risk-based approach. You look at how crime and security science explain offending and security threats, how a security risk assessment identifies vulnerabilities and priorities, and how to develop a proportionate mitigation plan in response. It suits existing security professionals and anyone whose wider role includes security, risk, facilities management, resilience or organisational preparedness. The course is delivered by Oakwood Risk & Resilience entirely by distance learning, so you study at your own pace with tutor support. How it's assessed: you produce a Security Risk Assessment and Mitigation Plan for a practical security scenario or organisational environment, rather than a traditional academic essay.
