About This Course
S.E.N.T.I.N.E.L Level 2: IED, UXO & Drone Threat Awareness develops operational awareness of explosive hazards and modern battlefield threats faced by journalists, NGO personnel and expeditionary teams working in high-risk environments. This instructor-led course introduces participants to the principles of identifying explosive threats, recognising ground sign, understanding indirect fire exposure and recognising the growing role of drones in modern conflict environments. Participants will learn how to recognise environmental indicators, understand common threat patterns and apply practical risk mitigation principles when moving through potentially hazardous environments. The course focuses on awareness and decision-making rather than technical disposal procedures. Completion of this module forms part of the S.E.N.T.I.N.E.L Level 2 Applied Operational Modules and contributes towards Tier 1 and Tier 2 Advisor recognition. All training is delivered in small groups with a maximum of six participants.

- Recommended for journalists, NGO personnel, fixers, security professionals and expeditionary leaders preparing to operate in austere or high-risk environments.
