About This Course

The SFJ Awards Level 2 Award in Counter-Terrorism Awareness is a practical, Ofqual-regulated, entry-level qualification that gives front-line and public-facing staff the confidence to recognise suspicious activity, respond appropriately and help keep people safe. Developed in response to growing demand, it offers an accessible pathway for staff for whom the Level 3 CTPSaP goes beyond the scope of their role, and is designed to complement existing counter-terrorism and protective security training rather than replace it. Delivered over a single day, the course covers terrorism threats and common attack methods, the purpose and intent of Martyn's Law, vigilance, hostile reconnaissance and suspicious behaviour, reporting and escalation routes, immediate response actions, evacuation, invacuation and lockdown procedures, suspicious item procedures, and public access trauma first aid awareness. It is ideal for front-line and customer-facing staff, security and estates teams, supervisors, volunteers, contractors, and anyone working in a public-facing environment. Assessment is a 25-question multiple-choice test held during the course, leading to the nationally recognised SFJ Level 2 Award.
