Sudan. The FCDO advises against all travel to the whole of Sudan, with the British Embassy in Khartoum closed, no UK evacuation on offer and consular support severely limited. On 26 June the UN Security Council was told that an estimated 500,000 civilians are at risk as fighting intensifies in and around El Obeid, and that the war has already produced more than 5,700 verified grave violations against children, with drones now linked to nearly 80 per cent of reported child casualties this year.
DR Congo. The FCDO advises against all travel to the whole of eastern DRC, where M23 rebels and Rwandan forces hold Goma and Bukavu and clashes continue across North and South Kivu. Commercial flights are no longer operating from affected airports and departure routes can close at short notice, so extraction rather than any single threat is the planning problem for the east.
United Kingdom. The national terrorism threat level stays at SEVERE, meaning an attack is highly likely, and the level for Northern Ireland-related terrorism in Northern Ireland stays at SUBSTANTIAL, meaning an attack is likely. Neither level has an expiry date and both can change at any time.
