West Bank

The UN says nearly 200 settler attacks linked to the olive harvest have caused casualties or property damage so far this year, already more than the 185 recorded in the whole of the 2025 season, and that about 80 per cent took place in the past two weeks. The harvest officially began on 15 October. Full story in today's lead.

Saudi Arabia

The Security Council adopted a presidential statement on 15 October condemning "the reckless strikes" on 10 and 11 October on King Khalid International Airport, which the Council said killed 13 people and wounded over 300, as well as strikes on other airports and Saudi Aramco facilities. The Council also reiterated its condemnation of continued Houthi attacks and threats against commercial shipping in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab. The FCDO continues to advise against all but essential travel to all airports in Saudi Arabia except Medina International Airport.

Lebanon

UNIFIL reported 95 Israeli artillery and mortar trajectories on Wednesday 14 October, and said a drone of unknown origin flew over a UN position near Haddatha the same day; peacekeepers responded with electronic jamming and small arms fire, but the drone was not affected. The mission is preparing for its drawdown at the end of the year.

Bangladesh

Durga Puja runs from today until 21 October. The FCDO says to expect large crowds around festival sites and Hindu temples, increased security and traffic disruption, and notes intercommunal violence during previous festivals. Our tradecraft piece today sets out a movement plan.

Albania

The FCDO added new information on 15 October saying demonstrations have been held in central Tirana, with some reported incidents of violence and property damage. It advises staying away from demonstrations and following local authorities.
