Two things worth your time this morning.
Ecuador has declared a 60-day state of emergency as of 15 September across eight provinces and three cantons, according to FCDO advice updated on 16 September. It includes a 12am to 5am curfew in El Oro, Guayas, Los Ríos and Manabí from 17 to 30 September, with more police and military on the streets and possible disruption from extra security checks. The FCDO already advises against all but essential travel to seven coastal provinces, and says express kidnappings are common throughout the country. If you have movements between 12am and 5am in those four provinces, replan them now.
At home, the SIA's enforcement report, updated on 8 September, shows 15 criminal investigations opened across July and August, more than in the previous four months combined. It ended August with 56 open investigations, and its August operations checked 70 premises, 34 of them in Belfast City Centre.
