The Home Office published guidance on 5 August 2026 setting the notification timeframes for the UK's protect-duty regime: a three-month window for qualifying premises to notify the SIA from commencement, changes reported within 28 days, and 14 days for qualifying events once a date is made public. Germany, the crowded-places warning. The FCDO's Germany advice, updated on 7 August 2026, assesses that terrorist attacks are very likely and lists the July 2026 Berlin Christopher Street Day vehicle attack, in which one person was killed and 29 injured, among recent examples. Yemen and the Red Sea. The FCDO's Yemen advice, updated on 31 July 2026, reports that since July 2026 the Houthis have launched air strikes against Saudi territory and Saudi shipping vessels in the Red Sea, and warns of an ongoing risk of further military escalation, including in Yemen and the Red Sea, which could occur at short notice.
