In Saudi Arabia, the FCDO extended its advice against all but essential travel on 20 September to include the cities of Abha and Khamis Mushait in Aseer province. Advice against all travel within 10km of the Yemen border, and against all but essential travel between 10km and 80km from it, continues. The FCDO warns that travel against its advice can invalidate insurance, so any Aseer tasking needs cover confirmed before departure. We have no primary source for a specific trigger and are not asserting one.
From the SIA, a Freedom of Information response first published on 17 September reports that 454 security operatives were checked during unannounced inspections on 21 June 2026. It found 15 breaches of licence conditions and six suspected offences of working without a valid licence, one of them on a cloned licence. On Martyn's Law, the SIA withheld its target operating model as still under development and said it does not hold forecasts of registrations or inspections.
In New York, the UN General Assembly's high-level week begins on Tuesday 22 September. The UN Spokesperson said on 18 September: "So far, we expect about 73 Heads of State, 45 Heads of Government, 49 Ministers, 11 Vice-Presidents and one Crown Prince." He added that about 168 events are scheduled that week. Teams with work in Manhattan should expect a dense concentration of protected delegations.
