Lebanon. In a 10 August change, the FCDO narrowed its advise-against footprint and no longer advises against travel to some parts of the country. The easing is partial: a cessation of hostilities was announced in June 2026, but fighting and airstrikes have continued in the south, where an Israeli military presence remains, and the areas near the Syrian border stay volatile. UK threat level. The national threat from terrorism remains SEVERE, meaning an attack is highly likely. The Northern Ireland-related threat level in Northern Ireland stands at SUBSTANTIAL. Neither carries an expiry date and both can change without notice, so posture and vigilance should stay aligned to SEVERE.
