**United Kingdom β€” SEVERE (holding).** JTAC raised the UK national terrorism threat level from SUBSTANTIAL to SEVERE on 30 April 2026 β€” "an attack is highly likely". The assessment cites a rising Islamist and Extreme Right-Wing threat from individuals and small groups, plus increased state-linked physical threats, particularly to the Jewish community. It remains at SEVERE into June. The public posture is "remain alert, not alarmed", with suspicious activity reported through the ACT route.

**Bolivia β€” sharp deterioration.** A state of emergency was declared on Saturday 20 June 2026 to clear roadblocks and protests; the FCDO updated its travel advice the following day, now advising against all but essential travel to the department of La Paz, including the city, and to the Chapare region of Cochabamba. Note the exact wording β€” against all but essential travel, not against all travel. Unrest spans La Paz, Cochabamba, Oruro, PotosΓ and Chuquisaca; security forces clearing blockades carry a risk of violence; and the FCDO warns the situation can deteriorate quickly. The US Embassy in La Paz issued its own security alert on 20 June.

- **For operators:** hold a heightened posture for UK principals while SEVERE stands β€” dial up surveillance detection and hostile-reconnaissance awareness around venues, residences and routine routes. For Bolivia, treat La Paz and the Chapare as elevated: pre-plan alternates around blockades, confirm ground support, and build in a rapid-extraction contingency given the fast-deterioration warning.
